Happy Birthday sweet N!!!

N is 5!!!

Where did the time go? I remember the tiny little guy who wanted nothing to do with us almost 3 years ago...lol And now he's this amazing full of life kid with the world ahead of him. We made it a birthday weekend. ;o)

Saturday the guy from learning Rx never showed up for the appointment. So that's kind of left bad taste in our mouths. Not sure what we will do about that one. But it left us more time to hang out together.

We drove over to Hampton for some Ethiopian food! Hampton isn't all that far from us but the only way to get there is through a tunnel and there is ALWAYS ugly traffic. Saturday was no exception. Ugh!

We met another couple with a sweet little girl also adopted from Ethiopia. I think it was a good time had by all. ;o)

N had no recollection of Ethiopian food. That made me pretty sad, but he loved it. And E was in heaven. At first I am not sure he was sure he remembered what to do with the injera, but then it was almost as if a light bulb went off in his head and he just chowed down!

We took them to see G-force after lunch. It was an ok 5 yr old movie, but not so great otherwise...lol

Sunday we went to church.

Had an afternoon birthday party with his buds. Then on to my niece's birthday party.

It was a FULL weekend! Good stuff all the way around!

I had called the day before we went to the restaurant to tell them we were coming and really just to make sure they were going to be open. The lady who owns the restaurant had a table ready for us with a happy birthday table cloth. It was very cute! I am not sure if they were trying to give us some atmosphere, or helping us feel like we were in Ethiopia, but they didn't have any lights on in the room we were in...lol There was plenty of light coming from the windows but it was a little weird. ;o)
S lovin it!!!
Can you see the mess on his hands and face...this kid was in heaven. He has asked to go back about 50 times since we left!

Birthday boy!!! Is he beautiful or what?!!

My God daughter and N being best little buds... they were so cute!

Me my mom and S... just cause...lol

This shot was just too cute not to share! ;o) My friend said, "3 Moons over Virginia Beach" ;o)

Opening presents....

The bunny cake. N asked for a blueberry cake with chocolate icing and a bunny on top. So... I provided. ;o)

Happy Birthday, Big Boy!!

I think one of the appeals of Ethiopian food, at least to my kiddos, is that the adults encourage eating with your hands! :)
